In April 2007, the United States martial arts team and members of their families had the privilege to visit with a children’s home formally known as “The State Educational Institution No 31 for Orphaned Children and Children Left without Parental Care of the Moskovsky District of St Petersburg”. The U.S. team was greeted with a lively game of sack racing.


Our hearts were touched by the smiling and happy faces of the children; and, it was an incredibly rewarding experience to distribute the boxes of gifts we brought along from America. A flood of Matchbox cars, dolls, stuffed animals, candy necklaces, bibles and much more overflowed to the 67 children in the home which was established in 1957 and celebrating a 50th anniversary. During our visit, we learned of needed renovations and essential repairs. The U.S.A. Martial Arts team would like to help our new friends at School No. 31.
