Individuals associated with the International Martial Arts College, USA (IMAC) are expected to conduct themselves in such a manner that represents the highest level of character. American martial artists are expected to observe the tenets of good sportsmanship, fairness, dignity, civility and respect. The following Code of Ethics was designed to provide guidelines for athletes, coaches, and spectators alike. Everyone attending the Martial Arts Olympics and East-West Open must:
1. Abide by ALL established rules at all times.
2. Display courtesy and respect toward officials, athletes, teams and guests of the festival without regard for race, sex, creed or abilities.
Actions on the sidelines shall demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
Profanity, abusive or insulting language; profane gestures; rowdiness, arguing; inciting or disruptive behavior; or, any unsportsmanlike conduct is prohibited.
Any decision made by an official is to be accepted absolutely and without quarrel.
Athletes must demonstrate maturity and integrity in conduct, leading by example and demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship at all times.
Disrespect for opponents will not be tolerated. Athletes must be gracious competitors and accept both wins and losses with dignity.
3. Illegal drugs and unauthorized prescriptive drugs shall not be possessed, consumed or distributed at any time.
4. Follow standards of fair play.
Compete cleanly and without loss of temper.
Always exercise self control
Never place the value of winning before the safety and welfare of other athletes.
Take personal responsibility for high standards of play and conduct.
Preserve the tradition of shaking hands after matches or competitions.
5. Coaches are asked to remember that the behavior of their team can and often does, reflect on the coaches own manner, attitudes, temper and approach to athletics; and, shall conduct themselves in a way which brings credit to themselves, their team, their school and their art. Coaches/Instructors will be held accountable for the actions of their group.
6. Coaches, parents, and other adult supervisors are responsible for insuring that any applicable rules, laws, regulations or policies are not broken.
7. All activity or conduct that may be detrimental or reflect adversely upon IMAC, its members, or the United States of America, will not be tolerated at any time.
8. While traveling, remember you are a guest in a foreign country. Your actions will be a reflection on every American, conduct yourself accordingly.


Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct outlined above, by a participant, coach or guest may result in the immediate withdraw from the tournament; disqualification or ejection from the tournament; ineligibility for future tournaments; and/or suspension of your privilege to participate in future IMAC sanctioned events. All fees, special awards and discounts would be forfeited.
